So often we talk about going into a battle packing heat. The more we become aware of energy the more we are aware of its function in every day interaction. This means that we will notice when someone is sapping it away, even when they don’t know what they’re doing. We will notice when someone is attacking us.
The easiest way to combat these distractions is to ensure our energy body is full of energy and shielded. Having substantial energy in the system at once has two immediate benefits. One is that as long as the energy is not excessive for the body to handle, its regular thicker more active flow prepares the human body to be able to handle more and more energy. It is important like any form of exercise to give the body regular breaks from this to recover and calm down. But this is essentially like regularly having bigger and bigger meals. The stomach will eventually stretch and become more and more capable of handling larger and larger meals, but too much in one go and you could cause gastric distention (or a tear in the stomach lining). Now over eatting is pretty bad for you, but energy is used for performing acts of powerful magic and for healing so if done slowly and carefully it won’t want negative side affects. The second side affect is that this excess energy has an impact in how impressive people seem to find you in conversation. This is obviously a side affect and not intentional, but useful in work situations nonetheless.
This is normally done by performing small circulation, but when you pass the baihui (top of the head) and huiyin (perenium), then you draw more energy into the system. Often the energy at the huiyin is drawn up from the yongquan point behind the ball of the foot, at the top of the foot’s palm if you like.
Warning. It is my experience that this should not be performed before bed. It can often excite the body and make it harder to sleep. In fact it is probably a good idea to dump excess energy around bedtime to allow for a good night sleep and to match the cycles the earth naturally goes through.
