It is almost guaranteed that at some point in someone’s magical career, for want of a better word, that they will want to, or need to, work with others. This is often where the mightiest of sorcerers fall at the lowest of hurdles.
The thing is magic and its practice requires a level of egotism and self-confidence that is easily damaged. I’m afraid not all of your friends will see you as the Grand Wizard of West Croydon and probably won’t treat you as such. You constantly see spectacular fallings out around magical groups. There are many difficulties being in and running such groups. That’s why this is a crucial part of magical learning.
This also kinda ended up being a dumping ground for me ranting about how terrible many occult groups are!
