It is a very healthy exercise to maintain the flow of energy around the energy body. If you have just done the subtle body exercise then you might already start to have a picture of your own subtle body and how energy might flow around it easily. Try your best to start drawing energy around your nadis in order to regulate the flow smoothly. The focus on your mind will allow the energy an opportunity to refine itself, the practice will develop your capacity to lead energy and the flow in your body will remove stagnant energy which is believed to increase health, and lower blood pressure and stress.
- Figure out your starting point which is normally below the feet in the earth
- Draw energy up through the easiest flow nadis in the legs
- Begin making a big circuit around the main body
- Repeat that circuit around 20 times. It can help to sync up the flow with the breath.
- Try leading the energy down the lesser-used nadis. Continue another 20 times, but each time do a slightly different route around the body. Try to lead the energy through every part of the body at some point.
- Take each body art at a time and breath out leading the energy into that part of the body and letting it expand to the surface of the skin. As you inhale, draw the energy deep into your bones. Do this 5 or so times per body part.
- When you are finished lead the energy to your navel and allow your system to absorb it.
- Ground any remaining energy into the ground.
This should become a regular exercise to maintain your energy system. When practising Qi-gong this becomes the small circulation, big circulation, muscle and bone washing technique.
